SoftLogix Communications

Use Bulletin 1784 Communication Cards with your SoftLogix™ slcpowersupplycontrollers to monitor and control I/O on ControlNet™ or DeviceNet™ networks. Use your own Ethernet card to communicate over EtherNet/IP™ networks. Use the built-in serial port on your SoftLogix controller to communicate over RS-232 serial networks. Install multiple communication interfaces into the SoftLogix PC to configure a gateway to bridge or route control and information data between different networks.

Features

  • Monitors and controls I/O on ControlNet™, DeviceNet™ or EtherNet/IP™ networks
  • Supports the SoftLogix™ controller in sending or receiving general communication messages to or from other devices on EtherNet/IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet and RS-232-C serial (DF1 protocol) networks
  • ControlNet communication interface (1784-PCICS) supports applications that require intrinsic safety, media redundancy and high-speed data transfer
  • DeviceNet communication interface (1784-PCIDS) supports applications that require more diagnostics, as well as connections of low-level devices directly to plant-floor controllers (without interfacing through I/O modules)
