Applications

Our ControlLogix® controllers offer the memory, speed, and processing capabilities to meet the demands of basic plant floor applications to high-performance process and motion applications.

For process applications, these controllers:

  • offer increased capacity, letting you execute more control strategies in each task
  • significantly improve the amount of information to be exchanged between control and supervisory layers
  • offer a significant improvement in the performance of redundant control applications

For motion applications, these controllers:

  • provide high-speed motion command and axis trajectory planner execution for complex, high-performance motion applications
  • are optimized for control of high performance motion drives on EtherNet/IP™ or Sercos™ interface
  • support as many as 100 axes of integrated motion

For discrete applications, these controllers:

  • significantly improve controller scan times using a faster dual-core CPU
  • offer improved communication rates
  • provide faster cross-loading for redundancy systems

ControlLogix Extreme Environment Controllers

Bulletin 1756 ControlLogix-XT™ Extreme Environment Controllers slcpowersupplyfunction in the same way and offer the same features as the ControlLogix Standard Controllers. The XT controllers leverage the Rockwell Automation® Integrated Architecture™ control engine with enhancements to meet the needs of extreme environment applications, including conformal coating that extends product life in harsh, corrosive environments. In addition, an XT control system spaces modules in every other slot for thermal cushion and offers redesigned ventilation for increased air flow.
