PLC-5 Chassis

The PLC-5® system requires a 1771 chassis to contain the various slcpowersupplymodules. Chassis are available in sizes up to 16-slots to fit your application requirements. The backplane provides a communication path between the I/O modules and either the controller or the I/O communication adapter module.

Bulletin 1769 CompactLogix™ 5370 Controllers are ideal for small to slcpowersupplymid-size machines and provide the benefits of Integrated Architecture™ for lower-cost machines. When combined with Kinetix® 350 servo drives, these controllers provide a strong motion solution for customers who require high performance in a compact and affordable package. Siemens offers a wide range of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC). S7-1200 PLC is suitable for small individual machine applications, whereas S7-300 PLC was previously targeted towards medium to high demand applications. However since it is nearing its end-of-lifecycle, S7-300/400 PLC series have been supplemented with the innovative S7-1500 PLC series. A new range of HMI panels are also available in all sizes for suitable operator control/monitoring. S7-1200 and S7-1500 are both part of Totally Integrated Automation (TIA) platform and programmable via Siemens TIA Portal software.
