S7-1200 PLC is suitable for small individual machine applications, whereas S7-300 PLC was previously targeted towards medium to high demand applications. However since it is nearing its end-of-lifecycle, S7-300/400 PLC series have been supplemented with the innovative S7-1500 PLC series.
